What are the implications for the purposes of private law claims by or against a public body, e.g. in contract or unjust enrichment, of a finding that an act on the part of that body was unlawful as a matter of public law? How are respective goals of public and private law reconciled in such cases? The Hon. Mr Justice Foxton will address a number of recent decisions in this important intersection of the law.
