Judicial Review Introductory Series

This series (held via Zoom) is intended to be an introductory course, and is ideally suited to pupils, junior public law practitioners, or experienced barristers interested in learning about the procedure and practice of judicial review. It also serves as an update for any procedural developments in the past year.

Each webinar will be chaired by Jonathan Moffett QC (11KBW) and led by experienced and knowledgeable practitioners.

• Monday 8 November 2021– Preparing a case for judicial review – Julia Smyth (Landmark Chambers) and Katherine Barnes (39 Essex Chambers)
• Monday 15 November 2021 – Preliminary procedural issues – Tim Buley QC (Landmark Chambers) and Sandra Akinbolu (36 Group)
• Monday 22 November 2021 –  Permission applications and responses – Eric Metcalfe and Khatija Hafesji (Monckton Chambers)
• Wednesday 1 December 2021 – The substantive hearing – Martin Westgate QC (Doughty Street Chambers) and Leonie Hirst (Doughty Street Chambers)

These sessions are for ALBA Members and Pupils only. You will be required to request a place to attend. If you are a pupil and not a member of ALBA, please indicate this clearly in the comments section. Each confirmed booking will cover all four sessions. The Zoom link for each session will be sent out the evening prior to the respective webinar.
