ALBA is pleased to host an online lunchtime webinar on interim relief in judicial review at 1pm on 24 March 2025.
The webinar will be chaired by Jonathan Moffett KC (11KBW) and we are delighted to be joined by:
- Charlotte Kilroy KC (Blackstone Chambers)
- Tim Johnston (Brick Court Chambers)
The event will address the circumstances in which interim mandatory relief can be granted in judicial review claims in the light of what was said in paragraphs 88-89 of the judgment of the Court of Appeal in RRR Manufacturing Pty Ltd and British Standards Institution [2024] EWCA Civ 530, about the impact of section 31(5)(b) Senor Courts Act 1981. The full breadth of the conclusions reached in those paragraphs have been doubted by a subsequent Court of Appeal in EK and SK v SSHD [2024] EWCA Civ 1601 (see paragraphs 63-71).
The event will also examine the grant of interim relief more broadly in judicial review proceedings.
Contributions to the discussion from online attendees are encouraged.
The panel will commence at 1 pm and be finished by 2 pm on 24 March 2025.
The event is free and available to ALBA members only.
Registration will close at 6pm on 23 March 2025. The Zoom link will be distributed after booking has closed.
