ALBA is pleased to host a hybrid seminar with Judge Yevhen Synelnykov, Judge of the Civil Court of Cassation, Ukraine Supreme Court, and Honorary Bencher of Middle Temple.

The seminar will discuss how the current situation in Ukraine affects the administration of justice.  It will explore what martial law means, in particular how the justice system functions in a state of martial law and what martial law means for the courts.  It will consider the difficulties facing the courts as they work to uphold the rule of law, especially in the realm of constitutional law.

The seminar is on Wednesday 13 May 2026, with registration at 5:45pm, for a 6pm start.  The event will be followed by drinks from around 7:15pm.

The event will be held at 39 Essex Chambers, 81 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1DD.  It will be possible to attend the event either in-person or online.The event is free and available to ALBA members only (including online attendance).
