
ALBA is pleased to announce the speakers for the ALBA Summer Conference 2025, which will again take place as an in-person one day event in central London. The ALBA summer conference is held annually and brings together practitioners, academics and others with an interest in public law for a series of sessions on topical issues within the sphere of constitutional and administrative law.
The keynote speaker will be Lord (David) Anderson of Ipswich KBE KC of Brick Court Chambers. David Anderson KC is a leading practitioner in human rights, public and constitutional law and has appeared in many important cases in these fields. He has been a cross-bench peer since 2018 and has made substantial contributions on legal and constitutional affairs in Parliament. Lord Anderson will speak on the topic of the role of Parliament in the constitution today and into the future, and the relationships with the executive and the courts.

Registration will commence at 9:30 am, and the conference sessions will run until 6 pm, to be followed by a drinks reception and dinner in the evening.
Tickets include lunch and refreshments throughout the day, a pre-dinner drinks reception, and a buffet dinner with wine in the atmospheric setting of the IMechE Library.*
Prices are as follows:
- KCs and partners in solicitors’ firms: £350
- Junior barristers of 5 years’ call and over, associate solicitors and judges: £250
- Junior barristers of up to 5 years’ call: £180
- Pupil barristers, trainee solicitors, academics and students: £120
The conference is open to ALBA members only.
* We regret that we are not able to offer discounted tickets to those who will not be attending the dinner. The numbers for dinner are restricted due to the size of the IMechE Library, so it may not be possible to accommodate for dinner some people who do not book early for the conference.
NB: Once booked, tickets may be transferred to another member up to 5 days before the conference. Tickets will not be refunded unless there are members on the waiting list to attend to whom the ticket can be transferred.
