DESCRIPTION:The panel discussing this topic will comprise of:\nAlastair Bon
 nington\nTom Bower\nGreg Callus\nChaired by Catherine Callaghan QC.\nAlast
 air Bonnington was BBC Scotland's in-house counsel for 16 years ending in 
 2008. He dealt with pre-publication advice and represented the BBC in the 
 Scottish Courts.\nGreg Callus is a barrister at 5RB\, and is instructed pr
 imarily in claims involving defamation\, breach of confidence\, privacy\, 
 data protection and freedom of information\, as well as arguing open justi
 ce issues in the criminal and family courts. He also the editor of the Whi
 te Book commentary on contempt of court\, and since 2014 has also been th
 e Editorial Complaints Commissioner at the Financial Times.\nTom Bower is
  a journalist and writer (25 books) who worked for 26 years as a producer 
 and reporter for BBC TV (1970-1996)\, including 10 years at Panorama. He t
 hen spent 9 years making documentaries and has also made around 200 films.
  He is known as a ‘trouble-maker’ after the Diana/Bashir saga.\nThis s
 eminar will take place via Zoom and is open to ALBA members only. There wi
