SUMMARY:Securing pupillage in public law
DESCRIPTION:The covid-19 pandemic affected the extent to which people plann
 ing to apply for pupillage in 2023 have been able to build-up experience i
 n the field of public law\, for example through mini-pupillages.  As a re
 sult – and as part of its efforts to widen access to the Bar – the Con
 stitutional and Administrative Law Bar Association (ALBA) is holding a web
 inar intended to help those considering applying for pupillage in public l
 aw.\n\nThe webinar is aimed at all those who are considering applying for 
 pupillage in 2023.  It is not limited to student members of ALBA (althoug
 h you can join as a student member of ALBA for £20 a year).\n\nThe webina
 r (held on Zoom) will be chaired by Richard Honey KC of Francis Taylor Bui
 lding.\n\nIt will comprise short\, focused talks (5-8 minutes) on the foll
 owing subjects:\n\n 	what does a public law practice at the Bar cover – 
 Sarah Sackman\, Matrix Chambers\n\n\n 	what is public law really about in 
 practice – Steve Broach\, 39 Essex Chambers\n\n\n 	public law practice b
 eyond London – Christian Weaver\, Garden Court North\n\n\n 	sets to thin
 k about applying to for pupillage – Amy Mannion\, 1 Crown Office Row\n\n
 \n 	public law pupillage in the Government legal profession – Simon Regi
 s\, Deputy Director\, DCMS Legal Advisers\n\n\n 	how to demonstrate an int
 erest in public law – Khatija Hafesji\, Monckton Chambers\n\n\n 	what pu
 blic law sets are looking for in candidates – Anneli Howard KC\, Monckto
 n Chambers\n\n\n 	how to stand out at the application stage – Caroline D
 aly\, Francis Taylor Building\n\n\n 	how to do well in interviews – Imog
 en Proud\, Monckton Chambers\n\n\n 	a pupil’s perspective – Stephanie 
 Davin\, Doughty Street Chambers\n\nThe webinar will end with a 30 minute Q
 &amp\;A session.\n\nPlease note that booking will close at 6pm on Sunday\,
