SUMMARY:Introduction to Judicial Review Series
DESCRIPTION:This three part series (held via Zoom) is an introductory cours
 e about the practice and procedure of judicial review. It is primarily int
 ended for pupils\, “junior junior” public law practitioners\, or exper
 ienced barristers interested in developing a judicial review practice (alt
 hough solicitors and law students are also welcome to attend).\n\nEach web
 inar will be chaired by Katherine Barnes (39 Essex Chambers) and led by ex
 perienced and knowledgeable public practitioners as set out below:\n\n 	We
 dnesday 23 October 2024\, 6-7pm – Preparing a claim for issue – Tim B
 uley KC (Landmark Chambers) and Alice Irving (Doughty Street)\n 	Wednesday
  6 November 2024\, 6-7pm – The permission decision – George Peretz K
 C (Monckton Chambers) and Rachel Jones (Blackstone Chambers)\n 	Thursday 1
 4 November 2024\, 6-7pm –  The substantive hearing – Joanne Clement 
 KC (11 KBW) and Ollie Persey (Garden Court)\n\nThese sessions are free but
  are for ALBA members and pupils only. You will be required to request a p
 lace to attend. If you are a pupil and not a member of ALBA\, please indic
 ate this clearly in the comments section. Each confirmed booking will cove
 r all three sessions. The Zoom link for each session will be sent out the 
 evening prior to the respective webinar.\n\nPlease note that booking will 
 close on Monday 21 October 2024 at 6pm to allow time to organize the Zoom 
 links\, so please request your place (whichever sessions you plan to atten
 d) before then.\n\nPlease also note that attendees will be provided with a
  list of reading (approximately 1 to 1.5 hours per session) in advance. At
 tendees will not gain maximum benefit from the course unless they allow ti
