SUMMARY:From GOWA to Greyhounds: Discussing the constitutional law of Wales
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 23 April 2026 at 6pm – Hybrid event in Cardiff\n\nAL
 BA and Public Law Wales are pleased to host a hybrid seminar to discuss th
 e developing constitutional law of Wales.\n\nThe process of devolution in 
 Wales is now well-advanced\, with two Government of Wales Acts (1998 and 2
 006) and two Wales Acts (2014 and 2017).  Wales is now very much a distin
 ct legal jurisdiction\, with a considerable body of constitutional and adm
 inistrative law\, including Acts of Senedd Cymru\, and related court decis
 ions.  This includes\, for example\, the recent Divisional Court decision
  in R (Greyhound Board) v Welsh Ministers [2026] EWHC 670 (Admin).  This 
 seminar will provide an overview and update on this interesting and import
 ant area of law.\n\nThe speakers at the event all have considerable experi
 ence of constitutional and administrative law in Wales in practice.  They
  are:\n\nJoanne Clement KC\, 11KBW\n\nProf Jo Hunt\, Cardiff University an
 d Leverhulme Trust Major Felllow\n\nLaura Shepherd\, 30 Park Place\n\nThe 
 seminar will be chaired by Lord Justice Lewis.\n\nThe event will be held a
 t the offices of Browne Jacobson solicitors at One Central Square\, Centra
 l Square\, Cardiff CF10 1FS – 2 minutes walk from Cardiff Central train 
 station.  It will be possible to attend the event either in-person or onl
 ine.\n\nThe seminar is on Thursday 23 April 2026\, with registration at 5:
 45pm\, for a 6pm start.  The event will be followed by drinks and nibbles
  from around 7:15pm.\n\nThe event is free and available to ALBA members on
 ly (including online attendance).\n\nRegistration will close at 6pm on Tue
