SUMMARY:ALBA Mooting Competition 2022
DESCRIPTION:ALBA is delighted to announce details of its second mooting co
 mpetition\, with the finals to be held on\n\n17 June 2022\, 5-7pm in the 
 Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.\n\nThe moot will be judged by Lord Ju
 stice Singh\, Mrs Justice Lieven and Christopher Vajda QC (former UK judge
  at the CJEU). The final will be held in court room 1 of the Supreme Court
 .\n\nThe competition is open to current law students\, including LLB\, GDL
 \, LPC and BPTC students. Applications are also welcome from those who hav
 e completed their BPTC but not yet secured pupillage as at 27 April 2022. 
 Mooters should enter in teams of 2. Those wishing to participate should re
 fer to the detailed instructions to candidates.\n\nThe competition will ta
 ke the form of a speed moot in which mooters will argue certain points on 
 appeal from Allister and ors v Secretary of State for Northern Ireland [2
 022] NICA 15.\n\nThe first stage is judged based on applications for permi
 ssion to appeal which must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 13 May 2022.\n\nT
 he prizes are £1000 for the winning team\; £500 for the second-placed te
 am.\n\nAll finalists will also be offered a free place at ALBA’s 2022 su
 mmer conference.
