DESCRIPTION:This year’s annual lecture is titled “Adjudicating Religio
 n”:\n\nCourts in democracies all over the world are increasingly being a
 sked to determine claims based on the right of freedom of religion and the
  right to be free from discrimination on the grounds of religion and belie
 f.  In her lecture\, Professor Kate O’Regan will consider why these cla
 ims are being made more frequently\, and analyse the jurisprudential diffi
 culties that arise in adjudicating such claims.  She will illustrate her 
 argument with recent decisions of courts in a range of jurisdictions inclu
 ding the United Kingdom\, the Europe Court of Human Rights\, South Africa\
 , Canada and the United States.\n\nThe annual lecture is free. There is n
 o advance registration for this event. The annual lecture is preceded by o
 ur AGM at 5.15pm and there will be a drinks reception directly after the
  lecture.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;
